Wear loose comfortable clothing. Avoid eating for 2-3 hrs before class. Arrive 5-10 minutes before class starts. All equipment provided, but you are welcome to bring your own along.

 

Bala Preggy: A gentle flowing class combining breathing and relaxation techniques with strength building poses. Designed to help you feel good & prepare you for giving birth.

 

 

Bala Bambini: Become a butterfly, a monkey & a tree! Using imaginative story telling the poses tell the story developing your bambinis concentration, co-ordination & confidence. Preparing them for learning & Life! 

 

Bala Boost: Afternoons see a drop in blood sugar levels & work capacity. By increasing the flow of blood & exercising at lunch we reverse that trend so you can get the most out of your afternoons.

 

Bala Restore: Ideal for relieving stress & tension. This slow recuperative class allows

The body to let go - opening tight areas & increasing flexibility. Beginners, seniors &

The experienced will all gain from this class.

 

Teenage Bala: An active flowing variation of postures, increasing strength & flexibility,

Improving concentration & memory, aiding in co-ordination, stress management and

Relaxation.  Challenge yourself!

 

Bala Burn:  Expect to sweat.  A dynamic sequence of strength building postures

combined to challenge & invigorate. Ideal for those wanting to be pushed in

their practice. 

 

Bala Tone: A flowing sequence of poses focused on long holds, balance & alignment.

All areas of the body are targeted especially the arms, stomach, buttocks

& thighs. Suitable for all levels.

About Bala

Bala is Sanskrit for strength, energy & power. Bala Yoga is a blend of Hatha & Astanga Vinyasa Yoga. By combining strength, relaxation & stretching asanas in a flowing contempory form Bala aims to give you back your energy, strength & power to get on top of life.

 

At Bala we believe that it is only by taking some “me” time every day that you will truly get to live life to the fullest. It may sound counter intuitive to take time out to get more out of life, but  this is a fundamental reality of life.

 

Bala Yoga has many physical & emotional benefits, from weight loss & toning to a better capacity to manage stress. If you practice at least 2 times per week you should start to see, feel & experience the benefits immediately. Your Teacher

.Jodi is N.E.S.T.A & Yoga Arts Certified & a member of Yoga Alliance. She has been Practicing yoga for over 10 years and teaching for over 4 years.  Having taught & trained in Australia, NZ, Bali, Taiwan, Venezuela & Brazil, Bala Yoga & the Bala Studio is Jodi’s dream to bring a contempory form of Yoga & the far reaching benefits of what she has experienced physically & emotionally to a new group of adventurers.

 

Jodi started Yoga to help control her asthma and enhance her performance in various sports.  When her career path led to Television she found her practice helped her cope with the stress & pressures of tight deadlines & last minute changes typical of the Industry. Yoga gradually became a part of her life.  Living in & traveling through many different cultures from Asia to Latin America led Jodi to a  deeper understanding & interest in all aspects of yoga. Jodi has trained in  Power, Bikram, Hatha, Sivananda, Sport and Astanga Vinyasa Yoga and is also a certified Spencer Pilates instructor.  Bala Yoga is Jodi’s own particular blend of yoga, that she continues to develop for you every day.

 

Speak to Jodi about any injuries &/or concerns you have & she will be more than happy to take some time to listen & then tailor certain aspects of the practice to your needs, within a group class.
